Very Good

After God had finished creating the world, the universe, the plants, the animals and the humans, He looked at the things He had made, and they were very good. That's true of everything that God does. He's designed the plan of salvation to rescue us from sin. It is very good. Jesus is preparing a place in heaven for us. It will be VERY good. Here on earth, we need to be concerned, when we make a purchase, about the quality of the item we are buying. Not so with God. He does everything very well.

Thank You, God, for all the good things You do. Thank You that You are dependable will never fail us. Thank You for Your wonderful plan of salvation. Lord, help us to grow more like You.

P. S. This will be my last post for a while. I have had other things come up in my life that keep me from updating this blog. May God bless you and keep you inspired to serve Him.

After Their Kind

During the creation, God was careful to mention that he made animals that produced other animals after their kind. This runs completely counter to the theory of evolution, which says that some animals do not produce after their kind. So, we have a contradiction between a theory by Charles Darwin and the Word of the Almighty God of the Universe. Which will we believe? I choose the God of the Universe. His Word is always true. His prophecies have never failed. He is the very embodiment of truth.

Lord, thank You for showing us truth in the Bible. Thank You that we don't have to wonder about the origin of the earth and all the wonderful animals that You have placed here. Thank You for all the beautiful diversity on our planet.

The Power of the Word of God

I Genesis 1, we have the amazing account of the creation of the world. In six days, the earth went from a formless void covered by water to a vibrant place, teaming with life. What a miracle! It all happened by the power of God's Word. I just had to think what would have happened if mankind had taken on such a project:

  1. Get financing for the project. God doesn't need financing for anything. He has unlimited resources
  2. Years of design work. God only needed to speak and it happened.
  3. Permitting and legal approval. God is the ultimate authority in the universe. He needs approval from no one.
  4. Years to build the project. God did it in six days.
  5. Inspection. God inspected His own work and said it was good.

Lord, You are such an amazing God. We stand in awe as we look at what You have done. Help us to remain humble, because in Your site, we are nothing. We praise You for all Your majestic work.

    P. S. I am taking up Sunday School teaching for the next year. So, my posts may not be as regular in the future, but I'll do my best.

Speak Not Evil One of Another

James 4:11-12

11 Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.

12 There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?

KJV

This is a reminder that every human being needs from time to time. Which of us is not guilty of speaking evil or judging someone? There are plenty of opportunities to speak evil of people because no one is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes. Also, people have different preferences and ways of doing things. Just imagine what a different place this world would be if everyone only spoke well of each other for one week. What an amazing difference it would make! Relationships would improve. Estranged people would be able to get along again. More souls could be saved. Although this may never happen, let's begin with ourselves. Let's purpose in our hearts not to speak evil of anyone, ever. We will find good things happening to us when we're willing to drop our grudges and fault-finding.

Humble Yourselves

James 4:10

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

KJV

We live in a world where pride is praised, self-promotion is expected and humility is rejected. So, what does the Bible have to say about pride and humility? This verse tells us to humble ourselves so that the Lord can lift us up. It may seem counterintuitive, but if the Bible tells us to do it, then we should do it. But, humility is a lost art. So, what should we do about it? We need to go back to the Bible. We should read all the condemnation that the Bible has for pride. We need to realize how dangerous it is to our Christian life, and we need to give God the glory for everything. Everything that we can do is only made possible by God. We are no good in ourselves.

Lord, help me to live humbly. Help me to remember that, without You, I am nothing. All I have comes from You. Help me to give You the glory for all my accomplishments. Help me to point people to You.
