Behold, I Come as a Thief

In Revelation 16, John is recording the great vial judgments that are poured out in the earth. In the middle of this, Jesus says, "Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame." He is warning us that we must always be ready for His return. There may be many things going on around us. We may become distracted and fail to watch for His return, but Jesus reminds us that His second coming will be as a thief. No one knows when it will be. So, we need to live in a constant state of readiness and alertness. We also should be sharing the Gospel with those around us so that they, too, can be saved before it is forever too late.

Lord, help me to always be ready for Your return. Help me to live in such a way that I need not be ashamed at the judgment day. Help me, also, to reach out to others who are lost before Your imminent return.
