Using Our Gifts to Serve Others

As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

1 Peter 4:10

Amazing, isn't it? God gave us our spiritual gifts for the good of others. I Corinthians 4: 12 says "So also you, since you are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek to abound for the edification of the church." Our gifts aren't to be wasted on ourselves. We shouldn't be displaying them for our glory. We should be using them to bless other people. This concept is fundamental to Christianity, but I feel that it is often very poorly practiced.

Lord, help me to use the gifts that You've given me to bless the people around me. Help me not to be proud of them, and help me not to hide them. Help me to use them for Your glory.
