In Ezekiel 16, God spoke a parable about Israel. He tells how Israel had been neglected and rejected as a child with no home and no parents to care for her. He saw her and cleaned her and eventually she became His wife. He gave her fine clothes and jewelry. He gave her lovely perfume. Yet, she rejected Him and became a harlot. She used the jewelry to make idols. She gave the fine clothes and perfume as sacrifices to the idols. She sacrificed the children that they had together to the idols. She had no sense of thankfulness or appreciation for what He had done. She forget how she had been rejected and left to die before God saved her. She forgot about all the things He had done for her.
How different am I. God chose to give me many wonderful things: a godly heritage, good parents, a happy family, salvation and so much more. Am I living in thankfulness to God or ignoring His love?
