Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe
1Ti 4:12
In the Bible, much is made of the wisdom and experience that comes with age. This is in sharp contrast to the American culture of youth. We can learn a lot from those who are older than we are. Over time, they have learned what is important in life. They've learned a balance that most younger people do not posses.
However, in this chapter, Paul tells Timothy not to let anyone look down on him because of his young age. We should aim to be young people that other folks look up to The second half of the verse tells us how to do that: "in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe."
Lord, help me to be a younger person who is blameless in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity. I want to be someone who is an example of a younger person serving you. Help me to point those around me to You.
