But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. for some men, straying from these things, have turned aside to fruitless discussion, wanting to be teachers of the law, even though they do not understand what they are saying or matters about which they make confident assertions.
1 Timothy 1:5-7
How many church leaders today would say that the goal of their instruction is love? Even if they would say that their goal is love, when you look at their lives, sometimes you wonder if it's true. It's sad, but too many leaders have an unspoken goal of politics, power or control in their instruction. What a blessing it would be if we had more leaders like Paul: leaders who are selfless and are leading for the benefit of their followers and the glory of God. Let's band together and pray for our leaders and pray that God would raise up more leaders whose goal is love.
